We give you documented facts about the alleged ‘Jurgen Klopp curse’, we tell you how it works and we give our verdict on whether it’s real or not.
Jurgen Klopp is currently considered one of the best managers of the last five years, he has a relatively successful story in football but some think he has a curse.
The German manager has coached two very important squads in two of the biggest leagues in the continent, he has only won one out of 7 finals he’s played since he started his career as a professional.
The cult following that Klopp has attracted with the three squads he has coached at the highest level can deceive people.
His current run at Liverpool and constant presence in the final stages of the biggest tournaments can make you think that he has a huge trophy room inside his house.
However, the German manager only won titles at Borussia Dortmund and he only got two of them in the competition that doesn’t involve playing a final.
Klopp won two Bundesliga trophies for Dortmund, he always kept that squad competitive but his peak was reached back in 2013.
During that era, the now Liverpool manager reached his first-ever UEFA Champions League final and lost it against Bayern Munich.
Klopp lost another two Pokal finals against Bayern again, and the last one against Wolfsburg before he decided to leave Germany.

Jurgen’s hopes for trophy glory is still in jeopardy.
Even though the German manager has completely won over the hearts of football lovers around the world with his time at Liverpool, he still hasn’t won anything.
The coach left Borussia Dortmund thinking that he would get better chances to become more successful than he already was.
The first years allowed him to reach one Europa League final and one Champions League final, he lost both of them.
These defeats brought the bad memories of his time in Dortmund, where he only won the first final he played back in 2012.
It’s been seven years already and Jurgen Klopp has already lost 6 out of 7 finals in various competitions, he is about to play his eighth on June the 1st.
Everybody is already thinking that this manager is actually cursed, losing against Tottenham would actually confirm that.
We know that Liverpool is the slight favorite for this crucial match, the Reds are playing their second consecutive Champions League final and they finally have a chance to win some silverware.
The worst part of all this for Jurgen Klopp is that he is facing a squad that has been experiencing that very familiar “champions’ luck”.
This term refers to the fortune that a club has during a season, the one that usually takes them all the way to lifting the title.
Our verdict about the curse.
We do believe that luck is a major factor in these types of situations, Liverpool doesn’t have such luck and they have suffered it for decades.
The Reds know first-hand what it’s like to actually suffer the worst end of terrible fortune with the Premier League, they completed yet another fantastic season and they didn’t win the title.
Nobody in their right mind would dare to say that Liverpool isn’t one of the best clubs in the world right now, but they are certain that they might lose another title due to their bad history.
Putting one of the least fortunate clubs in history together with one of the least fortunate managers was a bad idea from the beginning.
Jurgen Klopp has decided to look at this whole thing with a different light, he prefers to be more positive about the whole deal.
The German manager already stated that he isn’t cursed because he has a healthy family and he has a dream job such as coaching elite football clubs in Europe.
The man is right, he is on the side of the more fortunate if you put things in perspective.
We only wish that all this positivity can transform into titles for all the Liverpool fans, who are the most affected about this whole bad fortune subject.
