Portuguese forward Cristiano Ronaldo has graduated as one of the biggest threats for this Champions League after his exhibition with Juventus.
Before the Champions League match between Juventus and Atletico Madrid started this Tuesday, there was a massive buildup to the game with Cristiano Ronaldo right in the middle of it due to the importance that this player has in the competition.
Not even Lionel Messi has done as much as the Portuguese forward has accomplished during his illustrious career in every club’s he’s ever played, the man truly is a trailblazer in football and deserves all the recognition as one of the best players in football history.
After tonight’s performance against the Colchoneros, we can certainly say that Cristiano Ronaldo is arguably the best player in the Champions League history just by looking at his numbers.
Let’s just start with the man’s history against Atletico Madrid in the last five seasons, because we believed that Diego Simeone’s squad was getting eliminated only because of Real Madrid but we realized that it was Cristiano’s fault all along.
Ever since the star and the Spanish squad met in the competition’s final from the 2013-14 edition, this is the fifth time in the last six years that they get eliminated by the Portuguese forward.

After 2014’s final in Lisbon, Ronaldo assisted ‘Chicharito’ in the 2014-15 quarterfinals to eliminate the Colchoneros with a single goal in the whole series.
One year later brought Atletico Madrid to Milano for a second chance to win the trophy against Real Madrid, but a Cristiano Ronaldo goal during the penalty shootout was the decisive factor that gave Los Blancos the title.
A year later it was Ronaldo’s turn to face Atletico with Real Madrid once again, a ruthless hat-trick in the semifinal’s first leg was the decisive factor that prevented Diego Simeone’s players to get past Zinedine Zidane’s squad.
Ronaldo didn’t meet the Colchoneros last season as they got eliminated in the Champions League’s group stage by Qarabag, but Simeone took the squad to win the Europa League last season.
When Cristiano left last summer there was a sense of relief by some, but Atletico Madrid didn’t expect to meet the Portuguese player so soon in the competition and the Colchonero fans shouldn’t have taunted the best player of the competition during the first leg.
What they got in return is another historic night for him, and even more heartbreaks for them.

We also have to talk about the obvious situation that is unfolding here as we speak, which is the evident mistake that president Florentino Perez made by letting Cristiano Ronaldo leave for €100 million last summer.
Today, the Portuguese forward proved that he is worth way more than what Juventus paid for him and Perez really messed this up just because of a power struggle that he refused to lose against Ronaldo.
Los Blancos’ chairman should’ve just paid him what he was asking for, he should’ve shown a little more appreciation for everything Cristiano has done for Real Madrid over the years.
Yes, Zinedine Zidane was the main reason why the club stopped winning trophies, but we truly believe that the biggest credit for everything they won in the last nine seasons should go to Cristiano Ronaldo without a doubt.
Juventus made a bargain by buying this amazing player, they effectively turned into the biggest threat of the competition just for having him inside the roster.
Everybody had their doubts, but Ronaldo never did and he proved the critics wrong again tonight.
There will never be anyone quite like Cristiano Ronaldo ever again in the Champions League.
