After making the decision to sack him, we will tell you why Mauricio Pochettino will be sorely missed by Tottenham Hotspur’s fans.

Tottenham Hotspur’s fans are currently confused about what’s happening at the club, they just received the notice that Mauricio Pochettino has been sacked.

The Argentine manager came when the club was still in construction with the hope of taking them to the elite.

The North London club was always a powerful entity but they lacked the competitive spirit in order to be considered a title contender.

However, Pochettino was that man who changed history for the squad and helped them believe in themselves.

The first major signal that things were going to work out great for Spurs cam during the 2015-16 season, which was the year in which Leicester City won the Premier League.

Tottenham was one of the title contenders throughout the whole season, and they wouldn’t have done anything if it wasn’t for what Pochettino accomplished.

The Argentine brought players who became the staple inside the club, they are the ones who helped build this club’s history.

After that magical year, the best was still to come for the Spurs, they were about to become legendary in their own right with what they accomplished last season.

Pochettino completed a fantastic job that helped the Spurs reach a historic UEFA Champions League final against Liverpool, which was Mauricio’s most important moment in his career.

Although the Spurs didn’t really win a single title with the Argentine manager, it is clear they wouldn’t have gone to where they got without him.

This is why we find his dismissal so controversial, the Spurs’ board decided to not trust their manager anymore despite everything he did for the institution.

Daniel Levy’s words described the situation perfectly.

“We were extremely reluctant to make this change and it is not a decision the Board has taken lightly, nor in haste,” said Levy to Tottenham Hotspur’s official website.

“Regrettably domestic results at the end of last season and beginning of this season have been extremely disappointing.”

“It falls to the Board to make the difficult decisions – this one made more so given the many memorable moments we have had with Mauricio and his coaching staff – but we do so in the Club’s best interests.”

“Mauricio and his coaching staff will always be part of our history. I have the utmost admiration for the manner in which he dealt with the difficult times away from a home ground whilst we built the new stadium and for the warmth and positivity he brought to us.”

“I should like to thank him and his coaching staff for all they have contributed. They will always be welcome here.”

“We have a talented squad. We need to re-energise and look to deliver a positive season for our supporters,” he concluded.

What’s next for Pochettino?

Given that he’s never won a single title as a manager in professional football, it’s hard to tell what is next for Mauricio Pochettino.

There have been very few coaches in football history who can return to the elite after such a public humiliation.

Clearly, Tottenham Hotspur should’ve remained by Mauricio’s side until he fixed the problems he had with the squad.

We believe that the Argentine manager will take a little time off before he decides to return to coaching.

Although he does have that UEFA Champions League final under his belt, the reality is that Pochettino still hasn’t won a title.

There might be many opportunities for Mauricio to get a job, but there won’t be many powerful ones that would be keen on getting him hired.

The bottom line of this whole situation is that Tottenham Hotspur might not get a better manager than Mauricio as a replacement.

Because despite not winning a single title, Pochettino was able to create a connection with the fans that very few coaches can achieve at their clubs.

We still believe that the North London club made a terrible mistake, but simply because we think Pochettino and Tottenham were a perfect match for each other.
