Due to the lack of results in recent weeks, Zinedine Zidane will have to spend quite a bit of money during the January transfer window.
The speech about his players lacking intensity is no longer valid for Zinedine Zidane, it is clear that the problem lies in a lack of midfielders that he needs to buy in January.
At this point, the whim of trying to get Paul Pogba might actually cost the French manager his job or he will have to adapt to what the club can accomplish right now.
Yesterday’s match in Paris was an alarming indicator that Los Blancos are in urgent need of new players during the winter, and they need to get them as soon as the window opens.
We know that ‘Zizou’ will try to convince Florentino Perez that going after Pogba should be a priority again.
But the gaffer also needs to have a plan B because Manchester United won’t sell their best player in the middle of the season.
The biggest issue that Zinedine Zidane had last Wednesday was the evident disconnect that exists between the defensive line and the midfielders.
There is not a player who can take care of that responsibility of acting as a link between these lines.
Real Madrid had a gaping hole in that area that allowed PSG’s full-backs to roam around their box without having anybody to cover them.
This is how Meunier and Bernat were able to hurt Real Madrid where it hurt them the most.

It wasn’t only Angel Di Maria who scored the goals, it was also the whole offensive line that knew they had nobody there to block their advances.
For any squad, it’s easier to defend long balls or long passes than players who are already coming towards them with a controlled ball.
The spaces between each line horizontally and every player in the same positions were alarmingly big.
Zidane’s decision to let players such as Dani Ceballos leave the club comes to mind right now, the Spaniard could’ve filled that gap without a problem.
But the French manager wanted Paul Pogba or nobody else, this is the biggest mistake that he made.
We can’t help but imagine Jose Mourinho sitting in his living room with the phone close to him, waiting for Florentino Perez’s call.
The way things are going right now, there is no way that Zidane will even make it to the winter transfer window.
Not being able to qualify to the UEFA Champions League’s knock-out stages would be a tragedy for Real Madrid, this would certainly get ‘Zizou’ fired.
We don’t know if you know this, but Real Madrid didn’t shoot on target a single time against PSG last Wednesday.
This is something that never happened to Los Blancos before in this competition, a stat that is extremely alarming and has very little to do with intensity.

Rivaldo also thinks Zidane needs to buy players in January.
Even Brazilian legend Rivaldo thinks the problem is a lack of players, the specific midfield position is key to control the game.
The former Barcelona legend spoke to BetCris about this issue and he wanted to send Zidane a message.
“Zidane has a lot of work to do to get his team back to what it was when they won three consecutive Champions League titles,” said Rivaldo.
“But Madrid always are always a prize scalp for opponents, after winning so many titles in the past, so they need to give everything they have in every match.”
“On the other hand, PSG were excellent in Paris with all their players performing well. It was a football lesson and if they follow this performance pattern, they should be considered favourites to win the Champions League.”
“Yes, Madrid also had their absences in this match, and Sergio Ramos’ leadership was missed on the pitch, but their midfield also had important absences and when you don’t have enough players to replace others in the same quality things can get nasty.”
“Depending on how Madrid do between now and December, I believe Zidane might be forced to go to the market in January in order to bring one or two big players to the team.”
