The Manchester United loanee will be expected to return without completing the season at Bramall Lane, leaving the Blades stranded at the tail end of season.
Dean Henderson gave a good account of his abilities this season. In his fifth loan move away from the club, he is finally showing his potential as the long-term custodian between the sticks.
While David de Gea fails to make any performances of note, Henderson has impressed under Chris Wilder. The English manager has gotten the best out of him and his assured performances in goal allowed them to dream of Europe.
In any other season, it would not have been an issue. But we are living in interesting times and everything is up in the air. Normally, Henderson would complete the season and return to Old Trafford.
But we are not living in the normal. The Whitehaven native’s contract is up on June 30 and he has to return to Manchester United. It is an interesting scenario, one in which we know the Red Devil’s answer before the question is even raised.
