Atletico forward Marcos Llorente has taken a cheeky dig at Liverpool after a recent post showing his dog’s special name ‘Anfield’.
Marcos Llorente was a star on the night Atletico produced a stunning comeback to knock holders Liverpool out of the Champions League.
The former Real Madrid forward had only scored three senior goals for Atletico prior to that night but came from the bench to score two crucial goals and then give an assist to Morata that sealed the win.
Many Liverpool fans insisted they were definitely going to progress to the next round after Los Rojiblancos won the first leg and it was that ‘over-confidence’ that saw lots of neutrals happy to see the Reds dumped out.
Jurgen Klopp was left furious on the occasion, claiming ‘Atletico played badly‘ and Llorente has further infuriated the Anfield faithful with his latest antics.
On Friday, Llorente posted an Instagram story featuring a picture of his dog, presumably a recent acquisition, lying down and staring ahead with the caption: “Anfield watching life go by.”
Many Liverpool fans immediately stormed to his comments section and appeared to hit back at the Spaniard with cheeky digs of their own.
It hurts but Llorente clearly won this one for now and we just have to admit it.
