Barcelona don’t really want to lose Ousmane Dembele this summer but inconsistency and fitness issue may for the Catalan club’s hand.

The biggest question of the summer for Barcelona is whether Ousmane Dembele still has a future at Camp Nou? According to reports in Spain and France, the player’s agent and the club’s senior management will have a serious meeting to discuss the player’s future.

Two years on from Neymar’s departure and Dembele’s arrival, things could be changing again. The Brazilian wants a change of air while Ousmane Dembele has flattered to deceive.

Signed to replace the Brazilian forward, Ousmane Dembele is far from being considered a great return on the club’s investment in him.

Way before the whole Neymar circus began, Barcelona management was looking to listen to offers for the France international. Wishing to strengthen their attack, Barcelona have already made Antoine Griezmann their priority target. However, to get a hold of the Frenchman, they need to sell a few players.

Almost 300 million euros paid to sign the likes of Coutinho and Ousmane Dembele are today perceived as a waste of money. Barcelona are now keen on cutting their losses and would want to sell at least one of these two players.

Mundo Deportivo reports that a meeting will be held at the Ciudad Condal today between Josep Maria Bartomeu and Dembele’s agent. The meeting will focus on the future of the youngster. However, it seems pretty clear that Barcelona might want to get rid of Ousmane Dembele in a bid to get some much needed cash and make way for a potential Neymar return.

Dembele on the other hand, may not be against the idea of leaving Camp Nou either. The Frenchman has endured a difficult spell in Spain. Persistent injuries have really affected his ability to showcase his true potential. Meanwhile, the club’s keenness to sign Griezmann will also reduce the winger’s playing time significantly.
