Mesut Ozil will remain at Arsenal until the summer of 2021 at least after his agent reveals the 31-year-old will honor his contract at the club.
Mesut Ozil has seen a bitter-sweat season with the Gunners this term.
The German was frozen out in the cold under former boss Unai Emery but has seen a new start to life under Mikel Arteta.
Despite his recent game-time, questions have still emerged about what the 31-year-old brings to the Arsenal side.
Ozil has under-performed by his own standards, scoring only one goal and notching up one assist in 17 league games this season.
And with all the uncertainty clouding his Arsenal future, his agent Dr Erkut Sogut has fully stated that the German will fully honor the full length of his contract at the club.
“At the moment, we don’t even talk about it, because he still has one-and-a-half-years left. He said to Inews.
“He still has 15 months to go. Until then, he will stay at Arsenal, for sure. He will stay until the end of his contract. There’s no chance he’ll leave.”
Moving further, Sogut went on to add that Ozil could yet renew his contract at the club where he would have spent two years shy of a decade.
He said: “I look at every option, I need to maximise and get the best contract for him.
“The options are coming in now. Maybe he will stay and have a new contract with Arsenal.”
Ozil still believes the Gunners can make the Champions League next season but that looks more unlikely after their recent Europa League exit.
