Mesut Ozil has a contract until the summer of next year and has no intention of leaving Arsenal before its expiration, asserts Erkut Sogut.
Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil was frozen out of the team in the first half of the season after falling out of favor under Unai Emery.
Mikel Arteta‘s appointment in December following Emery’s dismissal then saw Ozil return to the line-up and once again become a regular in the team.
In what has been a roller-coaster of a season for him, the German’s involvement was yet again obstructed due to the COVID-19 break. He failed to feature in any of the 12 matches after the return of football in June.
Speculations have surfaced suggesting Ozil has been deemed surplus by Arteta’s to his squad requirements, despite the manager having claimed otherwise.
Commenting on the rumors, his agent informs that it is highly unlikely that the 31-year old leaves the club before 2021.
“I do not think there will be a change in the case of Mesut Ozil until the summer of 2021. He has a contract. There is no change. He will remain in Arsenal,” Erkut Sogut told Turkish publication Fanatik.
“90 percent [he] will leave Arsenal in 2021. Mesut to Asia, America, or Turkey? Yes, maybe.”
