Ahead of the Premier League derby between Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur, the Gunners legend Ray Parlour has urged Unai Emery to include Aaron Ramsey in the starting lineup
Along with Mesut Ozil, the Welshman has been on the fringes of Arsenal’s side over the past couple of months.
The reason for Ramsey’s struggles to establish himself under Unai Emery could be his current contract status. His contract with the Gunners will run out next summer, and the parties are yet to find an agreement over a possible extension.
However, with Arsenal preparing to welcome Tottenham to the Emirates Stadium, Ray Parlour has adviced Emery to think about fielding the Wales international from the first minute.
Talking to The Sun, the ‘Romford Pele’ has also underlined Ramsey’s impact on the dressing room.
“My only worry for Arsenal is there aren’t many that have played in too many of these derbies,” he said.
“The name that stands out I guess for Arsenal is Aaron Ramsey. I know he’s been out in the cold but perhaps it’s time for Unai to utilize him.
“Ramsey should be in the dressing room, alongside Steve Bould, giving that rousing speech telling everyone what the fans want and expect from this game.”
