Parma boss: Antonio Conte wants to return next year

Parma boss Roberto D’aversa believes that Antonio Conte wishes to return to football management for the start of next season

The Italian coach left Chelsea this summer after just two years and has since remained silent on his future plans.

Conte had a successful first season at Chelsea, where he introduced his famous 3-4-3 formation at Stamford Bridge and led the club to the Premier League title.

However, things didn’t go so well in his sophomore campaign with Chelsea finishing outside the top 4 of the league table and 30 points behind winners Manchester City.

Lampard hails ‘superstar’ Mo Salah after Chelsea nightmare

Frank Lampard praised the way his old Chelsea team-mate Mohamed Salah bounced from his disappointing Blues stint to become a "superstar".

Following a breakdown in his relationship with a number of key players in Chelsea, like David Luiz and Willian, Conte was replaced this summer by compatriot Maurizio Sarri from Napoli.

But D’aversa is certain that we haven’t seen the last of Conte yet.

“Knowing Antonio Conte, I believe he is eager to return. He would want to start a season from the beginning with a team and not take over a team in the middle of the season,” he said on Tuttomercatoweb.

AC Milan had been linked with Conte this summer.
