Thomas Partey says he does not expect Liverpool to come easy at them but insists Atletico will give their everything to hit back.
Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey has assured that his side are no stranger to facing tough teams and will be prepared to take down Liverpool in tonight’s match.
Diego Simeone‘s men have struggled to find momentum this season. In La Liga, they seem to be losing sight increasingly as Real Madrid and Barcelona look far beyond their reach in the title race.
Up next, Atletico have an even harder battle awaiting them.
The Rojiblancos prepare to face the reigning titleholders, Liverpool, in the Champions League Round of 16 match later tonight. And Thomas Partey is aware of the gravity of the situation that they are about to experience.
“We know it’s not going to be easy,” Partey told CNN.
“But every team who gets to the last 16 is one of the best teams in Europe.
“We’re used to difficult situations. We’ll do our homework and I’m sure we’ll be at the level we’re supposed to be. We don’t think of the end. We focus on now, and build our confidence until we can achieve what we are going to achieve.”
