Thomas Partey was pictured in training for Atletico Madrid as the midfielder steps up his recovery ahead of his side’s Champions League game with Leipzig.
Thomas Partey is working hard to be fit in time for Atletico’s quarter-final clash against RB Leipzig.
Having knocked out holders Liverpool in the round-of-16, Los Rojiblancos will fancy their chances when they play Leipzig in 10 days from now.
With the Champions League games now in one-legged ties, it could pretty much go the way of any club.
And their hopes of claiming a victory in that match was boosted by the return of Thomas Partey from injury.
The 27-year-old went out injured in Atletico’s final La Liga game against Real Sociedad, putting his Champions League participation in major doubt at the time.
But on Monday afternoon, Partey was among those pictured as Diego Simeone led his boys to training at the club’s training centre.
Marca further claim that the midfielder trained on his own and didn’t join the squad in full training.
Elsewhere, Joao Felix also gave Atletico a boost as he trained fully with his teammates after missing out on their last session.
There is now a slight chance Partey could be fit and ready before a big fixture against RB Leipzig.
