Lionel Messi’s Argentina return didn’t quite go as expected. They lost 3-1 to Venezuela on Friday night.
The Argentine star was ruled out of Argentina’s friendly matches following suffering of a groin injury in the 3-1 loss to Venezuela.
The Barcelona forward played throughout the full 90 minutes on last Friday, but the Argentine federation announced after the game that he won’t continue with the squad as they prepare for their clash with Morocco on Tuesday.
Even though Messi is undoubtedly the greatest of all time for the Albiceleste, he has still come under criticism from Daniel Passarella for his attitude.
Passarella claims Messi plays better in club Barcelona than in his national team.
“He’s a great player who can give a lot to any team,” Passarella said via Marca.
“But when he plays for Barcelona he has a different attitude.
“He’s better there.
“Sometimes these things happen.
“You play well for a team and they love you, but you don’t feel at ease and something doesn’t fit. “I don’t know what it is, but it should be something you feel inside.
Messi has scored 39 goals in 36 games in all competitions for the Blaugrana, who are still alive in their pursuit for a treble this season.
