Javier Pastore moved from PSG to AS Roma also because Eusebio Di Francesco was able to offer him a clear role in the 4-3-3 system and the Argentinian wanted to accept it.
The offensive midfielder insisted that he will play in the centre of this formation so he will help with the defensive part of the play as well – but he is okay with it since he did it already before at PSG from time to time.
Pastore spoke about his new role as he said, according to Football Italia:
“Roma play 4-3-3. When I signed with Roma I spoke to Di Francesco and he was very clear.”
“He told me he was going to play 4-3-3and, if I accepted the offer, I would play in the midfield three and help with the defensive phase as well.”
“I agreed to it, I know I can do it. I often did it in Paris.”
“For anyone facing Barcelona, you know you have to be 100 per cent focused and that you can concede a goal at any moment.”
“It is a match that is now in the history of the Champions League.”
