Chilean manager Manuel Pellegrini praised Hammers Marko Arnautovic and Mark Noble for their latest performances for West Ham United.
It was just last season when West Ham United was struggling really hard to not get relegated, now the Hammers still have the same objective under Manuel Pellegrini but they have performed relatively well in the start of this new season.
There are two specific players that Manuel Pellegrini is happy to have in the squad, one is Austrian striker Marko Arnautovic who has scored four goals for the Hammers already, and the other one is skipper Mark Noble who is leading the squad to better performances.
Pellegrini’s side had their best moment of the season after defeating Manchester United at home, this was a huge deal for all the West Ham United supporters and Manuel Pellegrini finally earned the trust of all the ones who doubted him.
When talking about Arnautovic, Pellegrini points out the striker’s maturity process compared to last season: “Yes he is a leader too — part of the things I demand. Marko has character, a difficult character. He is always trying to give all of him because it is the way he feels football.”
“Now he has more years, he is controlling himself more, so I hope we will not have any problems. I think he can score more. He must have a complete season. He has done well this season but to be a top player you must try to score in every game.”
But the Chilean manager is convinced that the biggest leader he has is Mark Noble: “When you are a captain, it is because you are a player that needs to be a leader. Mark has a lot of reasons why he is the captain – he has so many years here at the club, he is a midfielder that has a lot of influence in the way we play and he has the personality to acquire from everyone his best performance.”
“It is very important to have someone like him in the dressing room but not just one player. In the squad you need three or four. During the week they are always demanding from the rest of the squad and it is better if they have a good career so all the young players have the best example,” said Pellegrini this Thursday ahead of West Ham’s Friday visit to Brighton.
