Pellegrini unsure how long Wilshere will be out of action

West Ham United manager Manuel Pellegrini revealed that Jack Wilshere’s latest injury setback is taking longer than expected to recover from

The former Arsenal midfielder’s start to life at West Ham continues to be put on hold after sustaining another ankle injury this month.

Wilshere had undergone surgery on his left ankle in September and made his return for West Ham in a five-minute cameo in their 3-0 win over Newcastle at the beginning of this month.

But now Wilshere is struggling with a problem in his right ankle and will be sidelined for West Ham’s trip to Fulham on Saturday in the Premier League.

Kane doesn’t know what’s wrong with Tottenham

According to Spurs striker, Harry Kane, he is still optimistic about his club's future in the English Premier League.

“Is it more serious than first thought?” Maybe, because when he felt the pain it was in his ‘good’ ankle – it was not the ankle where he had the surgery,” said Pellegrini, according to Daily Mirror.

“We hoped it was just a pain and that he could adjust for two or three days but for different things it has been longer than we expected.

“It is very difficult to know. Maybe the doctor can answer better than me – on Wednesday he did a medical examination and when we get the results we will know.”

Wilshere has made just five appearances for West Ham this season after arriving on a free transfer from Arsenal in the summer.
