Pep Guardiola talks up Real Madrid

The Madrid giants have made quite a few moves in the transfer market and Pep Guardiola has praised the quality of a recently signed player.

Since leaving Spain, Pep Guardiola hasn’t had the chance to lock horns with Real Madrid. While he was at Barcelona, the Spaniard really gave the Madrid giants a run for their money. Now at City, Pep Guardiola continues doing wonders.

Real Madrid have made all the right sounds in the transfer market so far. They’ve managed to sing some really good players. The likes of Rodrygo Goes, Eder Militao, Luka Jovic and Eden Hazard have cost a lot. And the former Barcelona manager has praised his old rivals for their business this summer.

While speaking to Marca, Pep Guardiola also couldn’t resist pointing out that Manchester City gets a lot of stick for spending money.

“Real Madrid are signing good players, but only Manchester City spend money here,” Guardiola said during the Costa Brava Legends Trophy.

“The one who they signed from Chelsea [Eden Hazard] is very good.”He is an impressive player and one of the best I’ve seen.

“Spanish football has signed a player with whom you are going to have a lot of fun.”

Mendy remembers when he was in a wheelchair

The French defender was in a wheelchair for almost seven months, after he had hip surgery when he was a 15-year-old boy.

Speaking about his inability to win the Champions League since leaving Barcelona, Pep Guardiola said that winning the league is far more important.

“There are very good teams [in the Champions League] and others who deserve to win it,” he added.

“[However,] the league is the most important, first, because it makes you happier.

“When it goes bad, it’s very tough, but if you lose in the Champions League, it’s only two days.

“That’s why the league is funnier and more beautiful.”We all want to win the Champions League because it’s the most beautiful thing.

“The important thing is to try again and in our case we will do it again. “If we fail, we will try again, as the important thing is to be there until the end.”
