Nicolas Pepe arrived from France for a reported fee of around €80 million. This prompted a lot of criticism which was shut down tonight.

Guimaraes traveled to North London in an attempt to try and get an honorable loss if nothing else.

However, that’s not how they played. The Portuguese side came out of the gate of Emirates fearless in an attempt to beat Arsenal.

The result was 2-1 after the first half, with Martinelli scoring for Arsenal, and Edwards and Duarte bagging in for Guimaraes.

The guests actually dominated the match, further throwing Unai Emery down the drain, as the Spaniard decided to drop Mesut Ozil from the matchday squad.

However, an underrated and heavily criticized hero arrived, displaying all of his huge quality.

Nicolas Pepe took the ball as Arsenal got a free-kick in the 80th minute. He surprised the goalkeeper by shooting into his side and scored to make it 2-2.

The Gunners created chance after chance after Pepe’s goal. However, they couldn’t get anything to go until Guendouzi dribbled past a couple of players, getting a free-kick 20 meters from goal.

Nicolas Pepe felt it was his time to shine. He heroically took the ball, shot it stunningly over the wall, giving Miguel Silva no chance whatsoever to get to it.

Emirates exploded in celebrating their new hero, and now Arsenal keeps the perfect score with three wins in three Europa League matches.
