Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has paid a visit to the squad ahead of their trip to Manchester City for the return leg of their Champions League last-16 tie.

It’s been a roller-coaster season for Real Madrid. They managed to force their way to the top of La Liga following an underwhelming start to the campaign.

Los Blancos had racked up ten consecutive triumphs since the resumption of football in June before being held to a 2-2 away draw to Leganes in the season finale.

As a result, Zinedine Zidane’s side finished five points clear of arch-rivals Barcelona at the summit, bringing the Catalans’ two-year dominance of Spanish football to an end.

Real Madrid’s preparations for their Champions League trip to the Etihad are well underway, and Florentino Perez has paid the squad a visit, looking to strengthen their mindset.

Pictures of Perez exchanging courtesies with Zidane and a bunch of first-team players emerged on the club’s official website earlier today.

The Madrid outfit will have a mountain to climb after succumbing to a 2-1 defeat at the Bernabeu in the first leg.

Real took the lead after Isco put the ball past Ederson midway through the second half.

But, a late comeback staged by the likes of Gabriel Jesus and Kevin De Bruyne put Manchester City on the front foot going into the return leg.
