Former Chelsea defender Dan Petrescu hopes his ex-team could beat the Reds tonight, but he knows they are the favorites to lift the Super Cup.
The UEFA Super Cup will be played tonight between Chelsea and Liverpool in Turkey.
And for former blues defender Dan Petrescu, he is hopeful his ex-team can do well, but he knows the Reds are the favorites to win.
“I hope Chelsea win, but I’m afraid Liverpool are better,” he told talkSPORT.
“Frank Lampard is my friend and Jody Morris is also, we played together.”
“I hope they do well,” he added.
“The fans love them, but they need results as quickly as possible because in football, without results, it’s possible you will leave.”
The last time Chelsea won the UEFA Super Cup was in 1998, and the club hopes the UEFA Europa League success from last season will help them lift this European title.
Tonight's #SuperCup will be the 60th meeting between Liverpool and Chelsea since 2000, making it the most played fixture in all competitions between English sides in the 21st century!
