With the season in limbo, it’s time to check out the 5 leading frontrunners in the race for the 2020 PFA Player of the Year award.

The coronavirus pandemic has led to the Premier League season being suspended until April 30, at the earliest. Even now we’re not sure if there will be any more action. Also on hold is the award ceremony for the PFA Player of the Year itself.

It brought an unexpected end to what had been another fine season of Premier League football. We saw many players standout and clubs take huge steps forward. Liverpool were especially impressive, having built a commanding 25-point lead in the standings. They were on the brink of league glory until the suspension.

Unfortunately, there is already talk of the season being cancelled altogether. So will Liverpool still get their title? And what will happen to the PFA awards? Nothing is certain right now.

So here we’ll check out the five favourites for the 2020 PFA Player of the Year if the season was to end.
