Lionel Messi’s future at Barcelona is unclear right now, all his teammate Gerard Pique could do was create more doubt.
Lionel Messi’s future at Barcelona has never been in more doubt than during this past year.
Talk of a break clause in his contract that can be activated in the summer of 2020.
So when his long-time teammate Gerard Pique was asked about the Argentine’s future, he did little to help matters.
In an interview reported by Goal, the Spanish World Cup winner insists he would like nothing more than to see Messi retire at Barcelona.
But he also admits it’s not his choice and that absolutely anything can happen in football.
“You should ask him as he decides his future.”
“I would like him to retire with us. I can’t tell you more.”
“You can never say never in football, but I guess that is complicated.”
Could we eventually see a Guardiola Messi reunion, in Manchester?
