Barcelona should not be “digging up dirt” as they look to move on from Ernesto Valverde insists Gerard Pique.
Pique spoke after the Catalan giants were dumped out of the Copa del Rey by Athletic Bilbao.
Their loss came just days after Lionel Messi had called out sporting director Eric Abidal for suggesting unrest in the dressing room.
Pique has now called the Barca squad to shrug off differences and be united now more than ever.
“Everyone knows what they’ve done wrong and right,’ he said via AS.
“From there, we have to keep working, not throwing things in our faces from now until the end of the season, because it doesn’t help.
“The unity of the dressing room is incredible. It’s not the time to dig up dirt, which all clubs have.
“What I can say is that our confidence is at its highest, we’re happy with the way we’ve played and reacted to the outside noise.”
Barcelona still have the Champions League and La Liga in sight and Pique is hoping his side can get back to their best soon enough.
