Pique is disappointed after the El Clasico loss and even claimed Barcelona lost to the worst Madrid side he’s faced at the Bernabeu.
Pique was among one of the decent players in Barcelona’s loss and was unlucky to see Vinicius’ shot deflect off him for the first goal.
No one ever wants to lose an El Clasico but the Spaniard claims this is a warning to his side considering the manner in which they lost.
The El Clasico used to have much buzz considering the calibre of players on display but the 33-year-old claims this loss hurt more than it should.
With Madrid without Eden Hazard on the pitch and in a poor run of form, Pique claims Barca lost to the worst Madrid side he has ever faced.
“We are upset,” Pique said in the mixed zone after the game via Evening Standard. “We thought we could get a good result because they were transmitting very bad sensations. It’s one of the worst Madrid teams I have faced at the Bernabeu.
“But we lost the control and they push you back. And you can concede a goal at any moment, which is what happened.”
“We are hurt, but not sunk. We still have what it takes to win LaLiga is we can do things well until the end.”
Barcelona are now one point behind Madrid in the standings but Pique believes they can put the loss behind them and restart with a good run of results.
