Andrea Pirlo believes Cristiano Ronaldo should be given the priority when it comes to free-kicks at Juventus
The former Juventus midfielder was considered a set-piece specialist himself during his playing days.
Pirlo was praised for his ability to make something from dead-ball situations and had a knack of scoring long-range free-kicks.
The World Cup winner also shares the record with Siniša Mihajlovic for the most free-kicks scored in the Serie A at 28.
Therefore, Pirlo is ideally placed to pass judgement on who should be the main man for set-pieces between the regulars Miralem Pjanic and Paulo Dybala or new arrival Ronaldo.
“They have a great choice now because all three are very good shooters, but now Pjanic and Dybala might find it a bit more difficult because maybe the priority goes to Ronaldo,” Pirlo told Sky Italia, via the Express.
The former Italy international, who recently praised Ronaldo’s exemplary attitude, has received glowing reports about him from friends and even old coaches.
“Cristiano Ronaldo? My friends – his coaches, like Ancelotti – tell me he is a serious professional and a humble person,” added Pirlo.
“I’m not surprised at all, the results on the pitch are showing that.”
