Miralem Pjanic has insisted that Cristiano Ronaldo’s injury is keeping him from performing at top gear.

Cristiano Ronaldo has just one goal in five Champions League games this season. Even in the league, Ronaldo has five goals to his name in twice as many appearances. Considering his history and recent form with Portugal, the number-7’s figures are unusual.

But Miralem Pjanic understands his teammate’s marred form. Pjanic, as per Calciomercato, revealed that the forward is undergoing a knee problem which is keeping him from showing his full potential.

“Ronaldo would like to score goals in every match,” Pjanic insisted.

“He always wanted to be a hero by asking a lot of himself. Is he angry? I don’t know. But he has a knee problem that I hope will be fixed as soon as possible. Then he’ll come back to his best as he always has.”

The midfielder addressed his issues but claimed that he has restored to full health. Pjanic also expressed his desire to win the Champions League with Juventus.

“I am doing well, I had some muscle problems after Lecce but now I’m ok,” he said.

“We wanted to top the group. Now that we have, we will see who we draw in the next round, whoever it will be, we will prepare for it.

“Juventus are the only side in all of Europe who haven’t lost a single competitive game, and we won almost all of them. We want to win this trophy.”
