Juventus legend Michel Platini has heaped praise on Paulo Dybala comparing the forward to Diego Maradona.
Paulo Dybala’s Juventus career has done an about-turn. From attempts to forcing him out the door last summer, to now being offered a new and improved contract.
The pair has led the charge to help Juventus win their ninth Serie A title in a row.
His contributions have led to obvious comparisons with other footballers, especially the greats from his native Argentina. The likes of Messi and Maradona to name but a few.
At Juventus, Dybala wears the famous number ten, a shirt donned in the past by three-time Ballon d’Or winner Michel Platini.
The French legend is full of praise for the youngster.
Speaking to Corriere della Sera, he said:
“His style reminds me of Omar Sivori.”
“But he looks more like Maradona than me.”
“I’m not saying he has the talent of Maradona, his own is more than enough.”
Is Dybala really worthy of being mentioned in the same breath as a player of Maradona’s stature?
