Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino confirmed that Christian Eriksen will miss the trip to Huddersfield Town on Saturday
The Danish playmaker picked up a stomach injury in last weekend’s game against Brighton and is now in doubt for Spurs’ Champions League clash with Barcelona next week.
Despite two assists in six Premier League games, Eriksen has struggled to produce his best form this season.
But Pochettino remains hopeful that Eriksen will recover in time for next week’s game against Barcelona at Wembley.
“After the game against Brighton, he started to feel a small problem in this abdomen. We hope next week he will be available,” said Pochettino in a press conference.
Since joining Spurs in 2013, Eriksen has missed just nine games through injury.
Also unavailable for Pochettino this weekend is captain Hugo Lloris, who is still recovering from a thigh injury.
Meanwhile, fellow goalkeeper Michel Vorm is also sidelined with a knee problem.
Right-back Serge Aurier will be the other player missing with a thigh injury from Wednesday’s Carabao Cup win over Watford.
