Paul Pogba says Liverpool are well deserving of lifting the Premier League trophy this season but would not like to see them win the title.

Jurgen Klopp‘s men continued their relentless pursuit of ending the Premier League title drought after recording yet another hard-fought 3-2 victory last night.

West Ham United managed to give the league leaders a fright as they looked in more control of the match until the hour mark. But a goal from Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane made sure that Liverpool come out on top after the clock had stopped ticking.

As it stands, it is only a matter of when, and not if, for Liverpool to lift the Premier League title this season.

And Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba, despite admitting that Liverpool are way ahead of the other contenders this year, says the historical rivalry between the two clubs does not allow him to take pleasure from watching the league trophy go to Anfield.

“They have not lost a single game yet this season in the league. They already have one hand on the Premier League trophy,” Pogba told ESPN

“As a Manchester United player and with the rivalry between us, we don’t want them to win the title.

“We don’t want anyone else to win apart from us. But as a football lover and a respectful player to the opposition team, I have to say that they deserve to be where they are today.”
