Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has assured that Paul Pogba is eager to get back on the pitch for Manchester United.
Paul Pogba has played just seven matches for Manchester United so far in the Premier League this season.
The Frenchman returned to action during his side’s victory against Newcastle back in November but was immediately rushed off to the recovery center after suffering another ankle injury.
Pogba’s prolonged absence from the pitch has been stirring up stories that he is unhappy at Man United and is pushing for a way out. Recently, Mino Raiola also added fuel to Pogba’s transfer rumors.
But Man United managed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has brushed off any such claims. Speaking ahead of the match against Chelsea, Solskjaer insisted that Pogba is ‘desperate’ to get back on the pitch.
“Paul’s a footballer and he wants to play football,” Solskjaer said as per the Independent.
“He knows he has to work hard now to get back to his best. As soon as he gets fit he’ll be good enough to play for the team and I’m sure Paul’s desperate to play for us again.
“I haven’t sat down and told Paul to tell his agent what to say. But Paul is our player and not Mino’s.”
