There has been no shortage of talents being touted as the ‘next Cristiano Ronaldo’, and now Javier Aguirre comes up with another name.

Cristiano Ronaldo has maintained his status as one of the world’s finest footballers for over a decade now and still shows no signs of slowing down.

However, with age not on his side, the 35-year old forward will be forced to make way for the younger generation sooner rather than later.

A number of players have been tipped to become the center of attention in world football after the Juventus man star hangs up his boots, with Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland as the most popular choices.

Ronaldo himself labeled Mbappe as his potential successor earlier this year, while also naming Real Madrid duo Eden Hazard and Marco Asensio, FC Barcelona’s Ousmane Dembele, Paris Saint Germain’s Neymar, and Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford as other candidates.

The Portuguese star did not include Joao Felix, a promising and talented compatriot of his, in the list of his probable heirs but Javier Aguirre believes the Atletico Madrid man is in the ‘perfect route’ to success Ronaldo.

“The sky is the limit for Joao Felix. He’s surrounded by great coaches,” Aguirre stated emphatically, talking on Radio MARCA.

“He’s on the perfect route to be Cristiano Ronaldo’s successor.”
