Prandelli believes Genoa-Sampdoria match is a big derby

According to the Genoa manager, the Derby Della Lanterna has a very unique atmosphere in the Italian Lega Serie A.

Tomorrow in the Italian Lega Serie A, football fans around the world will have a fantastic game to watch between Genoa and Sampdoria.

The Genoa Derby, better known as the Derby Della Linterna will be a fantastic experience, according to Genoa’s manager Cesare Prandelli.

“The derby is the game everyone wants to experience and play in,” Prandelli told Football Italia.

“You feel strong sensations and I can’t wait to get started. The way I see it, this is the Derby d’Italia, because it brings together contrasts and familiarity too. It’s a unique atmosphere.”

Genoa is currently in the 15th place of the Serie A with 34 points, while Sampdoria is 9th with 45 points.

“It’ll be a game within a game in the stands too. The atmosphere in the stadium will have a big effect on the match and that means it is the most unpredictable of fixtures,” he continued.

Roma cannot challenge Juve: Roma VP

According to Mauro Baldissoni, the team is making a lot of changes, but they know they have years to catch up to the Bianconeri.

“We are up against a Samp side that passes the ball well and builds from the back. They’ve been playing together for years with this style, whereas we are still trying to find our balance. It’s about pressing, but not losing our tactical equilibrium.”

“The performances against Juventus and Napoli taught us that we can do well against the big clubs. Samp is an excellent team, so I consider them in the same group,” he added.

“Marco Giampaolo is a Coach capable of molding a team to his ideas. He is a teacher of football. If I had to take a player away from Samp, it’d be Fabio Quagliarella.”
