With Frank Lampard in charge at Stamford Bridge, it is going to be a dream season for every Chelsea FC fan, no matter where they finish at the end of the season.

However, there is a tough task ahead of the Blues’ legend, as he inherits a squad which is not even close to the one from his playing days in West London.

Ins and outs

Chelsea are serving a one-year transfer ban this summer, which technically means they cannot register any new players.

However, they were able to sign Mateo Kovacic from Real Madrid on a permanent basis, as the Croatian international was registered in the Premier League last season. Christian Pulisic is also there, he joined the Blues back in January, but spent the remainder of the 2018-19 campaign on loan at Dortmund.

Pep Guardioal, manchester city

Fraudioal reverted back to Guardiola because of his players

Pep Guardiola joked about his "fraudiola" nickname, and that his player's hard work gave him back his true name. In his post-match press conference, reported...

The departure of Eden Hazard would probably be a big blow for Frank Lampard’s side, as he was Chelsea’s best player in the past few years. David Luiz also left Stamford Bridge, but not London, as he joined Arsenal before the end of the transfer period.

Most important players

Chelsea’s midfield is their best part of the squad. They have world-class players in the likes of N’Golo Kante and Jorginho, who are expected to be the leaders of Frank Lampard’s side this season.

Pedro, Pulisic and Willian will also have to perform on their highest level, with Eden Hazard’s shoes waiting to be filled in by the attacking trio. Tammy Abraham could also play an important role, as he is the only ‘Number 9’ striker in the team.

Our prediction

It would be really hard for Chelsea to get a Champions League spot at the end of the season. However, we believe they will fight as hard as they can until the last round of the 2019-20 Premier League campaign.
