A huge number of players have been compared to Cristiano Ronaldo over the years, and Dominic Calvert Lewin becomes the latest one.
Everton’s Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been on sensational form since the start of the 2020/21 Premier League season, having scored six goals from just four appearances.
Calvert-Lewin’s tally sees him lead the league’s goalscoring chart, tied with Tottenham’s Son Heung-min.
The English forward enjoyed a similar form in front of goal last season as he found the back of the net 15 times across all competitions.
His efforts did not go unnoticed as he earned a call-up by Gareth Southgate in the England national team.
An Everton teammate of his has compared him to Cristiano Ronaldo, while also mentioning that the 23-year-old put in great efforts in training as well as in the gym to become as prolific as he is now.
“Dominic’s development has been really impressive. He’s transformed into a complete striker,” Richarlison told FIFA’s official website.
“I remember when I got here he was nothing like the player he is today. It’s down to the work he’s put in. He’s in the gym every day, he’s always working on his finishing.
“He must be a nightmare to play against and he has an incredible leap on him like Cristiano Ronaldo.”
