Liverpool welcome Southampton to the Anfield Road for their encounter of the 25th Premier League round.

Liverpool will be looking to maintain their incredible Premier League record when they host Southampton on Saturday afternoon.

The Reds have won 23 of their 24 league outings this season and sit on top of the table with a 19-point advantage ahead of second-placed Manchester City.

Sadio Mane has failed to recover on time for the clash with the Saints, so he will remain on the sidelines along with James Milner, Nathaniel Clyne and Xherdan Shaqiri.

Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side visit Anfield in good form, having won five of their last seven Premier League games, losing only to Wolverhampton.

The run helped the Saints to reach the top half of the table with 31 points on their account and go eight clear of the relegation zone.

Yan Valery and Jannik Vestergaard are back in training after injury and available for selection, while Stuart Armstrong is out of contention.

Liverpool have won their last five Premier League games against Southampton, scoring 13 goals and conceding just two in this run.

The Saints have won three of their last 30 away top-flight matches against Liverpool (D10 L17).

Jurgen Klopp’s boys have won their last 19 Premier League home games – only Manchester City have ever had a longer such run in the competition (20 between March 2011-March 2012).

Southampton have won 65% of their Premier League points this season away from home (20/31).
