Juventus travel to Ferrara for their Serie A encounter with SPAL on Saturday afternoon.
After finishing in 13th place in Serie A last season, SPAL are facing big problems to stay in top-tier Italian football in the 2019-20 campaign.
The Biancazzurri welcome the reigning champions as the worst side in the league, having collected only 15 points so far this term.
They’ve suffered defeats in their last four domestic encounters and are eight points adrift of the safety zone, as the situation seems to be completely desperate for Luigi Di Biagio’s side.
Juventus, on the other hand, returned on the top of the table with a 2-0 win over Brescia last weekend.
The Bianconeri, however, suffered defeats the last two times they’ve played on the road, losing three of their past five away games in Serie A.
A win at SPAL would see them expand the gap to four points behind second-placed Lazio and probably give them the needed boost before the Champions League trip to Lyon next Wednesday.
Keep an eye on
Cristiano Ronaldo is expected to return for Juventus after getting the last weekend off, to his own request.
The Portuguese has netted in each of his past 10 Serie A outings and is looking to make it 11 games in a row – which would see him equal the all-time record set by Batistuta and Quagliarella.
