PSG continues good run in Ligue 1

A single goal by Edinson Cavani gave Paris Saint-Germain its 22nd consecutive win in the 2018-2019 French Ligue 1 season.

Edinson Cavani scored a penalty goal in the 42nd minute against Bordeaux to continue Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) perfect run in the French Ligue 1.

The victory puts them 13 points ahead of LOSC, who have one more game played in the 2018-2019 season.

And for manager Thomas Tuchel, it was a difficult game, but they managed to overcome all obstacles.

“We really struggled to score, despite playing an excellent first half. We dominated, won back possession well and created a lot of chances,” he told the club’s official website.

“We have played 4-4-2 a lot recently, but we can also play in different formations.”

“Tonight Edinson suffered a muscle injury. The match against Manchester United is coming up very soon, and we will use the time to recover as quickly as possible,” he told the media.

“This match is a huge challenge for us and it’s always better to play these types of matches with your key players. We already know that Ney is out, and we have doubts about Marco (Verratti) and Edi (Cavani).”

“I am very happy to be back on the pitch after a few weeks on the sidelines. We had chances in the first half, but we suffered more in the second,” PSG midfielder Marco Verratti added.

Report: New offers for Neymar Jr. proposed

In a surprising twist, Real Madrid are reportedly attempting a swoop for PSG star Neymar Jr. with news of other players being offered as...

“We need to keep improving. We didn’t manage to kill the game off. Everyone is impatient for Tuesday’s game. It will be a magnificent match to be a part of and we have confidence in our own ability.”

“We all know that this is a very important match for us and the club. We need everyone to win,” he commented.

“We need to attack and defend together. I am convinced we will play well.”

“I didn’t play for several weeks before signing here, but I felt good on the pitch tonight,” Leandro Paredes said as he debuted in the midfield.

“I’ve been here for a few days now and have been made to feel at home by the other players. We have a very big match coming up on Tuesday against Manchester. We will do everything to prepare as well as possible.”
