Abdou Diallo impressed for Borussia Dortmund in his first season but the youngster could be set for a return to France with PSG one of the suitors.

Upon his arrival at the Signal Iduna Park, Abdou Diallo said that he wanted to be worthy of the club.

“After adapting to the Bundesliga in Mainz, I look forward to this new challenge and prove my worth at a big club like Borussia Dortmund. With my teammates, I want to justify the trust placed in me and ensure that BVB achieves its goals in all competitions. I am now looking forward to work under Lucien Favre to prepare for the next season,” the youngster said at his unveiling last summer.

Since then, things have changed. The youngster is no more happy at the club that paid 28 million Euros for his services. Abdou Diallo could be packing his bags once again. The youngster managed 27 starts in the league last season. However, the Frenchman fears that the return of Mats Hummels is going to reduce his playing time next season.

Therefore, he has requested the club to move him on. And Sky Sports believes that PSG could be set to take advantage of the situation.

While several clubs are interested in the young defender, it is believed that Paris Saint-Germain are favourites. The reigning French champions are set to miss out on Matthijs de Ligt who could join Juventus. And with Thiago Silva in his 30s, the 23 year old Abdou Diallo could represent the club’s future.

At present, PSG’s dialogue with BVB isn’t at an advanced stage.

Reports claim that a fee in the region of 40 to 50 million Euros would convince the Germans into selling the youngster. However, with a few English teams ready to pounce as well, PSG will have to move swiftly to secure the Frenchman.
