PSG has officially diagnosed the injury of Kylian Mbappe, but his chances of making the club’s next game remain uncertain.

Kylian Mbappe left Parc des Princes on crutches after PSG’s French Cup in over St.Etienne.

The World Cup winning winger was on the end of a ruthless and brutal foul, which saw him eventually withdrawn from the game.

The Parisians were more than capable of disposing of their opponents without him, although the concern now turns to his availability for the Champions League clash with Atalanta.

PSG announced their medical team’s diagnosis of the injury but will have to wait a little longer to determine the severity of the situation and how soon Mbappe will be available to return.

The club’s official statement read in regard to Mbappe’s injury:

“Sprain of the right ankle with a significant lesion of the external lateral compartment to be reassessed within 72 hours from a clinical and imaging point of view.”

The champion’s next competitive game is in six days against Lyon for the Coupe de la Ligue.

It is believed that manager Thomas Tuchel would gladly rest his superstar for Lyon game to ensure he is fit for the Champions League game on August 12th.
