Leonardo keeps the door open for a potential move for the Juve superstar, saying that anything is possible in an unpredictable market.
Cristiano Ronaldo’s future has been up in the air lately, with Juventus supposedly deeming him surplus to requirements.
A recent report claimed that the Serie A champions no longer require the services of their star player and plan on cashing in on him in the summer transfer window.
The Champions League all-time top scorer’s enormous wages is proving tough to manage for Juve in times of financial crisis, and this was the driving force behind the club’s shock decision as per the report.
Only a handful of clubs such as Paris Saint-German and Manchester City have the financial muscle to afford Ronaldo, should Juve indeed put their plan into practice.
PSG sporting director recently fueled the transfer rumors by not ruling out a move for the modern-day icon.
“Today in football we do not know what will happen,” Leonardo responded when asked on PSGTV whether a move for Ronaldo is plausible.
“Maybe tomorrow Cristiano Ronaldo wakes up and says I want to go play elsewhere. Who can buy him? It’s a closed circle. PSG enters this circle. Usually, it is about opportunities, situations.
“The transfer window, we have to prepare for it and that’s what we do. We have our priorities, our lists, but something unforeseen can happen.”
