Chelsea legend Tony Cascarino insists that if Christian Pulisic sticks around at Chelsea he can become even better than Eden Hazard.
Eden Hazard is considered by many as one of the best players to ever wear the blue of Chelsea.
Granted the likes of Lampard, Terry and Drogba have gone down in Stanford Bridge folk law. But in terms of skill and ability, there are few who could match the talismanic Belgian attacker.
Hazard spent seven years at the club, providing 110 goals and 92 assists during his time there. The likes of Timo Werner has recently been recruited to replace the forward after Tammy Abraham fell a little short over the course of the season.
However, former player turned pundit Tony Cascarino thinks that USMNT star Christain Pulisic has shown plenty of promise this season and maybe the player to fill the Belgian international boots.
Speaking to Talk Sport he insists it will take time, but if Pulisic stays at Chelsea for the long haul legendary status is within his grasp.
“I looked at Hazard’s stats – first season, nine Premier League goals in his very first season, the 2012-13 season for Chelsea.”
“I keep thinking: ‘Was Hazard as good as Pulisic has been?’ Pulisic has been out of the team at times through injury, he was brilliant in the Super Cup against Liverpool, but I think he has progressed into a player.”
“He has got nine Premier League goals as well this season. I think Pulisic is going to be one hell of a player.”
“If he stays in England for five, six, seven years for Chelsea, I think he’ll prove to be better than Hazard, and that’s a big call.”
What do think?
Never mind Hazard, what about a comparison to Ronaldo and Messi?
