Christian Pulisic is a ‘unique player’ capable of emulating geniuses like Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, says Jorge Alvial.
Christian Pulisic has experienced pretty much all the highs and lows of the Premier League this season.
The United States international, who joined Chelsea last year in a €64m deal from Borussia Dortmund, embarked on a good start before being frozen out in September. Injury woes then hit him just as he was hitting his stride in January.
Since the season restart, however, Pulisic has been immense. The winger has given Chelsea fans a taste of what’s around the corner with four goals and four assists in nine league games.
The Eden Hazard comparisons suddenly don’t seem too far-fetched either, as Pulisic can not only emulate the club legend’s style but his goals and assists as well.
But Jorge Alvial, who tried to sign Pulisic for Manchester United in the past, thinks the American can go one better in following the footsteps of Ronaldo and Messi.
“He [Pulisic] has got another four years of development,” the former Red Devils scout told the Manchester Evening News.
“So that is how I look at a player, I don’t look at him in the moment, I look at the progression he is going to go through.”
“If he is doing what he is doing now at a young age imagine if he is coached, if he gets developed. He is just going to explode.”
“He is one of those boys that the more he watches the geniuses like Messi or Ronaldo, he learns from them and he can do something just as good because he knows he has the talent to do it. He is a unique player.”
