The ‘very dangerous’ Timo Werner has made a great impression on his new Chelsea teammate Christian Pulisic, who believes they share similar qualities.

Timo Werner will line-up for Chelsea next season after making a €50m move from RB Leipzig on a five-year contract.

The 24-year-old lit up the scoring charts in this season’s Bundesliga, scoring 28 goals in 34 games. It made him one of the most exciting young prospects, with Chelsea fans hopeful of great things.

He scored a further six times in other competitions to bring his tally up to 34 goals in 45 games last season. Add the 13 assists he made, then Chelsea have got every reason to be delighted with their latest capture.

Despite being ineligible to play until the start of next season, Werner has begun training with his new squad and made a positive impression.

“He’s a very dangerous player,” Pulisic told the club’s website on Werner.

“I think he has some similar qualities to me and some of the attacking guys we have. He’s obviously very quick and very good in front of goal.

“He seems like a very humble guy. He wants to come in and wants to work.

“Playing against him has been a great experience and it’s going to be nice to have him on my team as well. So I’m definitely looking forward to that.”
