The new Chelsea signing hopes his talents can help push the United States national team to win the 2019 Gold Cup at home.
The 15th edition of the CONCACAF Gold Cup tournament is set to be played from June 15th to July 7th in the United States, Costa Rica, and Jamaica.
The Americans are the current champions of the competition, and Chelsea midfielder Christian Pulisic hopes his nation can win the championship once again.
“I feel great, I’m really excited to be back here with the guys,” he told a Ronaldo.com reporter.
“Yeah I felt good in my first training, I got a nice rest and I’m ready to go.”
The United States lost 1-0 against Jamaica and will play tomorrow against Venezuela before playing in the Group Stage of the Gold Cup: versus Guyana, Trinidad & Tobago, and Panama.
“The USMNT lost Just like the same thing with Jamaica, is going to help us learn, and to be ready for the Gold Cup,” he added.
“We want to build, we want to learn, and continue to grow. Everyone wants to win, so I would love to win it.”
Pulisic commented: “I think it’s a good balance and it’s going to help the team go forward.”
“It’s not going to change anything, I want some revenge, I want to win it. The team is going to give everything and I want to win that game.”
“I think so, there’s a lot of new guys, a lot of new faces,” he said.
“We’re looking forward to getting into a real competitive tournament now. It’s going to be a lot of fun.”
