AS Monaco striker Radamel Falcao admits that their start to the season has been “terrible” after losing 2-0 to Saint-Etienne on Friday
Les Monégasques have won just one of their opening eight Ligue 1 fixtures and sit 18th in the league table with six points.
An opening day victory over Nantes remains their only highlight of a truly shocking start for Monaco.
To compound their misery, Wahbi Khazri’s brace ensured that Monaco fell into the relegation zone.
Next up is the Champions League, where they will take on Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund for their second game of Group A.
“It’s not just against St-Etienne, it’s a terrible start to the championship,” Falcao told Canal+, via FourFourTwo.
“We have not managed to be as effective as expected and we have not been able to defend in the best way.
“We cannot go on like that, we have to raise our heads because on Wednesday we have to go to Dortmund to get a good result.”
Monaco won Ligue 1 in the 2016/17 season and finished as runners-up to Paris Saint-Germain last term.
