Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitic has been given the all clear to return to action after undergoing surgery on a broken finger
The Croatia international suffered a fractured metacarpal in the first finger of his left hand during Barcelona’s shock defeat to AS Roma in the quarter-finals of the Champions League at the Stadio Olimpico.
The Catalan giants had initially won the first leg 4-1 over their Italian opposition, but were left unable to answer to Eusebio Di Francesco’s new tactics in the return leg with Roma scoring three goals unanswered to progress to the semi-finals of the competition.
Last Wednesday, Rakitic underwent a procedure to rectify the issue with his finger and was absent in Barcelona’s recent games against both Valencia and Celta Vigo.
However, the midfielder has now been medically discharged ahead of Barcelona’s Copa del Rey final against Sevilla on Saturday.
