Ivan Rakitic wants proper clarity regarding his Barcelona contract and hopes the unrest surrounding his future would be sorted soon enough.
Rumors have circled around Rakitic of late. His current situation still remains uncertain and it remains to be seen if he’ll be playing at Barcelona beyond next season.
The Croatian was reportedly offered the chance to join PSG last summer as part of a deal that would have seen Neymar go the other way back to Spain.
Much recently, Rakitic has emerged as a transfer target for Serie A sides Juventus and Inter Milan, with many claiming the 32-year-old is in search of regular game-time. His former side Sevilla are also rumored to be in the running for his signature.
In his 21 La Liga games so far, Rakitic has only started 10 of those matches, suggesting he has fallen out of favor at the Nou Camp.
Despite growing speculation, the midfielder says he is not angry at anyone regarding his current situation but wants it all clarified as soon as possible.
“I’m not angry with anyone, I still have a great relationship with everyone at the club and I’m incredibly grateful for the time so far at Barca,” he told Sport1.
“It’s just that after the long time I’ve been here, people talk to me openly about everything.
“I want clarity in which direction it is going. I now feel that we want to take a common path.
“I have no problem with the fact that there have been many headlines around my name in recent years.
Rakitic also insisted that in the midst of everything, he remains very happy ar Barcelona.
“I am still very happy at Barca. My wife also feels very comfortable in Barcelona.”
He added: “I don’t want to look too far ahead. The people at the club know that Barca is the perfect club for me.
“I always sign a contract with the intension of fulfilling it. I still want that and I want to feel needed at the club.
