Sergio Ramos has joked that there should be two Ballon d’Or awards separating Messi and Ronaldo and the rest.

Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo have dominated the world of football for the last decade or so. Ever since their first games, Ronaldo and Messi have completely rewritten the record books while also making some new ones.

The pair have scored more than a mesmerizing 1200 goals between them. Other than that, Messi and Ronaldo have also shared eleven Ballon d’Or. Luka Modric was the player to break their duopoly in 2018 before Messi decided to claim it again this year.

Considering Ronaldo and Messi’s dominance, Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos has insisted that there should be two Ballon d’Or awards – one for the pair and another for the remaining football players.

“They could make a Ballon d’Or only for Cristiano and Messi,” Ramos told Ivan Zamorano in an interview with TUDN as per Marca.

“Then there could be another for the rest. In the end, it would be better for football.”

“I will play until the excitement goes, but my excitement is very great,” Ramos added.

“I will make the most of everything football has to offer for as long as I feel good. I look after myself well and I hope to continue for many years.”
