Sergio Ramos has hit back at claims from Gerard Pique that Barcelona were beaten by one of the worst Real Madrid teams he can remember.
Ramos and Madrid saw out a victory against Barcelona at the Bernabeu and as expected, the Catalan side were not happy with that loss.
Pique in particular didn’t have much good to say about his rival club.
The 33-year-old insinuated Los Blancos were lucky and called them “one of the worst sides he’s faced at the Bernabeu“
That statement has not gone down well with the Madrid captain who has hit back with a response of his own.
Ramos claims a win is all that matters to him and he is not bothered by ‘how’ or the manner in which his side won.
“Everyone’s opinion is respectable,” Ramos said via The Daily Star. “I would be happy to win every Clasico playing a first half as bad as he says it was.
“The plan was different. In the first half, we let them have the ball and in the second, we decided to go forward. They were not as fresh and we started to create chances.”
“We deserved our win for everything we did, in defence and attack,” he said. “The first half was even. Our pressing up the pitch was not perfect. In the second half we were better with our pressing, in the opposition half.
Real Madrid are back on top of the La Liga although it is now being reported that Ramos may have played his last El Clasico.
